Armor in Kingdom Come: Deliverance is used to protect the player from injuries. There are 20 slots for weapons, clothes, and attachments, as well as 4 layers of clothing or armor on every character. Different types of armor are effective against different weapons. Your clothes and their state affect your Charisma and Reputation, which, in turn, influence NPC reactions toward you. They also affect your visibility and the noise you produce, which affect your stealth skills. Wearing certain armors may cause NPCs to mistake you for one of their own, which can be useful when attempting to infiltrate areas that they populate.

Armor provides resistance to individual damage types for the region that it covers, meaning that a well placed attack or arrow to an uncovered region will inflict significant damage. Some types provide excellent protection against one type of attack, but suffer in other capacities. The "knightly" standard that the tanks of the era wear is often a set of plate armor pieces overtop a similar set of chainmail.

Armor is divided into several regions, each of which has a number of slots. Some armor items occupy single slots, and others multiple.
